Coronagraphic design and tolerancing for GPI
Résumé : The GPI ExAO coronagraphic instrument spurred advances on several fronts. I will present early results on our coronagraphic studies, notably chromatic properties of HEBS glass apodizers used in the apodized pupil Lyot coronagraph, an active slow speckle-reducing calibration system behind the focal plane mask occulter, multi-wavelength speckle subtraction using IFU spectrograph data cubes, and lab tests on a device to enable coronagraphic astrometry and photometry. I will also present results of a statistical analysis of our Lyot Project ExAO coronagraphic survey data from AEOS, which set limits on companions to the stars that we surveyed between 2004 and 2007.
